ZWZ National Large Bearing Engineering Research Center (Engineering Research Center for short), formerly known as “Bearing Research Center of Wafangdian Bearing Plant”, was certified as “National Technology Research Center” in 1995 by State Economic and Trade Commission, Ministry of Science and Technology and General Administration of Customs, and was approved to set up “National Large Bearing Engineering Research Center” in 2009 by the state and passed national acceptance in Nov.2013. National Large Bearing Engineering Research Center based on the technology center of ZWZ Group is the only one bearing engineering center that was approved by the state in China’s bearing industry. It is a large bearing engineering research center with strong technological transformation mechanism and technological innovative capabilities that embraces bearing design, test, inspection, analysis, research, identification together.

There are 240 staff in Engineering Center (220 permanent staff, 20 mobile staff ), which include 16 professor-level engineers and researchers, 72 senior engineers, 50 engineers and 47 assistant engineers.

Engineering Technology Center has 267 patents including 41 patents for invention and 226 patents for utility model. In recent three years, it has won 28 prizes for Technological Progress and 7 for Excellent New Product at national and provincial level.

Engineering Technology Center has 8 departments including Product Development Department, Technology Process Development Department, Automatic Technological Equipment Department, Technical Management Department, Test&Inspection Center and Administrative Office. They formed an innovative system of four technical R&D platforms of which hardware conditions such as development and test equipment are able to reach international advanced level, covering product development, research of common applied technology, inspection test and technology support.

ZWZ Technology Center implements relatively independent operation mechanism, to operate and develop technology in and out of company. The Center has Technical Standard Management Department, Product Development Department, Technology Process Development Department, Automatic Technological Equipment Department, Inspection Test Center and several Branch Technology Centers, which form an innovative system of four technical R&D platforms covering product development, research of common applied technology, inspection test and technology support. Meanwhile, as a lead department of technology innovative system, Technology Center takes responsibilities to carry out technology innovation by all the engineering technicians.

Main products of Engineering Technology Center are the bearings for major technical equipment, rail transit, automobile vehicles, military equipment and so on, all of which account for above 60% of domestic market.

Engineering Technology Center ranks Top 1 in bearing industry, the 68th among all Technology Centers in China, the 1st among Technology Centers in Liaoning Province as well as in Dalian.Engineering Technology Center has national-level lab, of which test reports are mutual recognized with 16 countries and 23 organizations. There are more than 15000 bearing species with all independent intellectual property rights, and two new products are created every day to expand supporting areas at home and abroad.

Engineering Technology Center takes design development, theory research, material research and inspection test for large size precision heavy-duty bearing as main direction with the aim of enhancing product precision, performance, service life and reliability, focusing on developing bearing products with high precision, high speed, low vibration, low friction, low torque, high reliability and long service life.
